Hee--seems I turned emails from the Pennlist back on just in time. In case anybody in this community isn't part of that group (and if you're not, you really should be), you missed the news about the MP tribute album that's just been released. Go check it out!

P.S. If you can't download from that site, there are links to other download sites in the Pennlist messages.

Lyrics to Mr. Hollywood Jr., 1947
Because they seem to exist nowhere else in the aether, I copied 'em myself from the booklet.

Mr. Hollywood Jr., 1947

No "Millionaire," unfortunately, but if anyone has the lyrics, I'd be happy to add them.

Michael is truly an incredible performer. He sings as if he's expressing each thought for the very first time. Reconnecting to his own experiences. Putting himself on the line. That passion fills the room, touching head and heart and leaves you hanging on every word. His voice is clear, round and strong. He hits notes that surprise you. You get lost in watching his fingers work his guitar. His arrangements are touching and thoughtfully underscore the relevance of the lyrics. He effortlessly switches from quiet reflection to fervent plea between verse, chorus and bridge. You find you're on the edge of your seat. Songs you've known forever take on a whole new meaning and you fall in love all over again. Suddenly every album is your favourite. When he leaves the stage all you can think is "that was the best show I have ever seen." And really, it was.

Hi, I'm going to introduce myself, seeing as how I've joined but haven't posted anything yet. I'm 17 (as of today), I live in Glasgow in Scotland. Because of this I don't have much MP music, seeing as how it's pretty hard to get, but I bought the longer version of March off our iTunes store (only album of his it has) and I've ordered the new album off amazon, after listening to the streams, which I love.
I guess as you can see from my icon I love Aimee Mann, and I have to admit that I only got into MP because I heard he was her husband and decided to check him out (sorry!). But I think he's really talented. And I'll never get to see him live since he never comes over here, so I'm jealous of you all...

My car broke down and long story short.....it took me three hours to get home...I was so frazzled I completely forgot about leno! I went to bed people!! I didn't remember till this morning as I was driving (ok my sis was driving) to work....I was so upset. I was really looking forward to it. When I get home I will see if they have it online...I hope so. I really hope so.

Just heard new song
Ok. I am unable to sleep. I am at a frends house and got onlne and woolah! what I have tried unsuccessfully to do I did. I got to hear some new music and see a video from a live largo show.

Now I am really excited about seeing him live after seeing the largo footage! I am a concert junkie and am getting that familiar feeling in my tummy........how will I be able to wait two months?? I will just not think about it because that feeling is unbearable if allowed to contnue for a great length of time. Ignorance and denial are two states of being that I am QUITE familiar with.....shouldn't be too difficult LOL

First one to post!
I guess I am the first one to post here. I was 9 when Michael's first video came on MTV. I remember being all caught up in the imagery. I was imagining I was at the foot of Michael as he was playing and getting a view of all the neighbors doing various things was intrigueing. ( I have always wondered about other peoples lives, I can't live in the city because of it, too much sensory overload! I never sleep.) I was a child with an imagination and alot of alone time....

Anyway, this began my affair with Michael's music. It seems to me a rare thing that someone can be relevant to you at age 9 and at age 26 also.

I will be seeing him play his music live for the first time on October 5, 2005 at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. Needless to say I am curious and excited. Will the music that has been mine and mine alone all these years lose it's grasp of me when I hear it with a group of people??

You see, I have never really associated Michael the man with the music I was hearing. Will the fact that a "someone" and not a "something" playing this music, with a distinct personality and look, take away from these songs or will it make it that much better for me??

I shall see. Two more months and I will know the answer to all these questions.
